2. Onboarding

2.1 The What

By the end of this lesson you will have a better understanding of what it is that we are working on when we are learning a language.

2.2 The How

By the end of this lesson you will have a better understanding of how I advise you to learn and improve your English. A way based on the way of thinking about language we looked at in the previous lesson.

2.3 Our Zoom sessions

3.1 Who or What – replacing names

By the end of this lesson you will be making very short correct sentences with technology to replace names you do not know or do not want to repeat over and over. To practice it, you will be make the shortest possible sentences using this technology until you can do so without thinking about it.

At the end of this lesson you will be comfortable using circa 25 of the most flexible and powerful English action words.

By the end of this lesson, you will know and be practicing the technology in English to communicate whether an action is in the present, past, or future: The When Technology.

3.5 Making Movies – moving pictures

By the end of this lesson you will be using the -ing ending more and more and understand why Making Movies is a relationship technology.

3.6 How Probable – positive and negative messages

By the end of this lesson you will have learned and be practicing English language technology to efficiently communicate how much you believe or want an action to happen and how much freedom you want to give people when we communicate a decision or order.

4.1 Perspectives and Politeness

By the end of this lesson, you will have a clear picture of how working with rabbits is not always the same as working with ducks, and three principles to help decide how to best communicate with rabbits.

4.2 Basic rabbit communication

By the end of this lesson you will have a set of tools for good rabbit communication that strengthens the relationships you need to work well with rabbits and polite way to ask rabbits questions or ask them to do things.

4.3 Professional small talk

By the end of this lesson, you will have a way of thinking about Small Talk as communicating how you will work together and have a way to do that well. 

4.4 Turning to and ending the work

By the end of this lesson, you will have learned highly professional ways to move empathetically from small talk to the work you need to do with your customers and set the goal for your conversation so that you can professionally end the conversation and both feel good about the work you did.

4.5 Professional emails

By the end of this lesson, you will have reflected on the five things you want to have happen when sending an email. And you will have learned ways to optimize the five parts of your emails in such a way that lets you build and maintain the relationship with empathic, clear, and immediately understood emails that your recipients want to open and act on.
